Neeysa Biddle, FACHE, Senior Vice President, Ascension Health/Birmingham Ministry Market Executive, who serves as President and CEO of St. Vincent's Health System, is one of the Birmingham (Alabama) Business Journal's 2016 Most Influential Executives.
Members of the newspaper's Most Influential Executives list were chosen based on a number of factors, including feedback from a reader survey. The goal was to choose executives who are making waves in the local business scene by virtue of their titles, their backgrounds or their standing in the community, the newspaper says.
Neeysa, who was also on the Business Journal's 2015 list, became Birmingham Ministry Market Executive and President and CEO of St. Vincent's in early 2015. She had served as interim President and CEO of St. Vincent's, where she had been Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from 2005-2011. Before rejoining St. Vincent's in 2014 she served as national Director for the Ascension Leadership Academy.
A fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Neeysa has more than 25 years of healthcare administrative and executive experience. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Prior to joining St. Vincent's in 2005, she was Chief Operating Officer of Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, part of Tenet Healthcare.
Among her numerous community and professional leadership roles and recognitions, she has served on the Alabama Hospital Association's Board of Directors and as an adjunct faculty member at UAB's School of Health Professions, where she was selected as the 2001 Alumnus of the Year. She has been named one of the Top 40 Graduates of the UAB Health Administration program and North Alabama Girl Scouts' 2012 Woman of the Year.
