Dell Children’s Medical Center, part of Ascension Texas, received a $100,000 Hyundai Impact Award Grant for the Children’s Blood and Cancer Center.
“Hyundai’s generous support over the last decade has allowed us to improve overall care for our patients by increasing our understanding of how best to design and deliver that care,” said Puja Patel, PhD, a pediatric psychologist with the Behavioral Clinic at the Children’s Blood and Cancer Center.
“With Hyundai’s new gift, we will be able to further enhance the role of behavioral health in pediatric oncology at our center,” Dr. Patel said. “As a result, we can provide the utmost care for patients, siblings, and caregivers through the integration of behavioral health care within medical treatment – starting as early as a child’s cancer diagnosis and continuing support through survivorship.”
