Dell Children’s Medical Center, part of Ascension Texas, has opened a new pediatric cardiac care unit, part of the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. The 24-bed inpatient unit includes state-of-the-art technology and is the first and only dedicated pediatric cardiac care unit in Central Texas. As a result, more infants, children, and adolescents diagnosed with congenital and acquired heart conditions will be able to receive the most advanced care close to home.
The Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease is a focused pediatric and congenital heart program leveraging the power of the partnership between Dell Children’s, Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, and UT Health Austin, the clinical practice of Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas.
“As we continue to improve and expand our specialty programs at Dell Children’s Medical Center, we remain focused on providing compassionate, comprehensive care to children,” said Chris Born, President, Dell Children’s. “This expansion would not be possible without the vision and dedication of our team at the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease.”
The Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease is led by one of the world’s leading pediatric heart surgeons, Dr. Charles Fraser, Jr. He, along with his team of dedicated cardiologists, congenital heart surgeons, anesthesiologists and cardiac critical care physicians are creating a world-class pediatric cardiac and congenital heart disease program for infants and children at Dell Children’s.
