Nick Ragone, Esq., Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Ascension, has been confirmed by the Missouri Senate to serve on the Missouri State Board of Health and Senior Services. He had been nominated by Missouri Governor Mike Parson.
The board reviews and advises on the rules and regulations promoted by the Department of Health and Senior Services; and provides comments to the Director of the Department of Health and Senior Services regarding the promulgation of rules and regulations by the Department of Health, formulation of the department’s proposed budget, and planning for and operation of the Department of Health and Senior Services.
“I was honored to receive this appointment by Governor Parson and grateful to be confirmed by the Missouri Senate,” Nick said. “My focus on the Board will be to support efforts to curb opioid addiction, reduce maternal mortality, and increase investment in mental and behavioral health for the citizens of Missouri.”
The nine-member board consists of three physicians or surgeons, one dentist, one member with expertise in nutrition, and four individuals having a special interest in public health, disability-related issues, or gerontology, including senior citizens. Board members are appointed to four-year terms.
