Michael J. McBride, FACHE, has been named Regional President and Chief Operating Officer for Ascension St. John in Oklahoma. In this role, he will provide operational leadership for all Ascension St. John hospitals, Ascension Medical Group St. John, and key service lines while collaborating with Jeff Nowlin, FACHE, Senior Vice President, Ascension, and Ministry Market Executive, Ascension Oklahoma, in carrying out the organization’s local strategic initiatives. His appointment was effective Oct. 14.
Most recently, Mike served as President and Chief Executive Officer at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, Inc., a Catholic health system in Louisiana. Earlier he served as Senior Vice President and President of Suburban Hospitals for CHI St. Luke’s Health in Texas. He also held leadership roles at Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System in Colorado and Christus Health in Texas.
Mike earned a Master of Healthcare Administration degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. In addition, he is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, which has recognized him with four Regent’s Awards.
