Carroll Manor executive director completes leadership program

Lakesha McAllister, Executive Director, Ascension Living Carroll Manor in Washington, D.C., recently graduated from the prestigious Larry Minnix Leadership Academy. The yearlong leadership development program is designed to enhance the leadership skills and core competencies of not-for-profit leaders within the membership of LeadingAge, a nonprofit organization focused on education, advocacy and applied research in the field of aging services.

Unlike many leadership programs that focus on building a core skill set for new leaders or are geared toward nurturing a specific career path for emerging leaders, the Larry Minnix Leadership Academy is designed to develop the leadership capacities and core competencies of professionals in aging services across the continuum of care. The program emphasizes self-awareness and relationship-building to tap into an individual’s natural talents and uncover their authentic leadership style.

Lakesha participated in a graduate-level curriculum that included five in-person experiences and monthly virtual gatherings.

“I’m proud of Lakesha for this accomplishment and thankful that leaders like Lakesha get to benefit from such a forward-thinking leadership program offered by LeadingAge,” said Danny Stricker, President, Ascension Post-Acute Services.
