In support of justice and peace

In support of justice and peace

A message from Joseph R. Impicciche, JD, MHA
President and Chief Executive Officer, Ascension

As a Catholic health ministry, Ascension is rooted in the loving ministry of Jesus as healer. Our actions and our words reflect our reverence for the dignity and diversity of life.

Far too often we have witnessed senseless acts of violence and discrimination in many American cities and communities. Too frequently, such violence begets more violence, and this cycle can cloud the deep, underlying issues that have led to resentment and anger.

Ascension joins the Catholic Health Association of the United States in condemning racism and discrimination in all its forms. We call for a renewed commitment to justice and peace based in respect and love. We ask all Americans to join in this effort and to pray for the healing presence of God to enter our hearts and minds as we deal with the issues that plague our nation.

We also join in offering our condolences and prayers to those who have suffered from violence, racism and discrimination, as we work together for greater justice and reconciliation.
