Dell Children’s Medical Center North Campus celebrates grand opening

The Dell Children’s Medical Center North Campus, Austin, part of Ascension Texas, held grand opening celebrations April 12. The celebration included a blessing ceremony by Bishop Joe S. Vazquez, Diocese of Austin; visits from superheroes in costume; and comments from hospital and community leaders.

“The 36-bed hospital will offer emergency and trauma services, and level 3 trauma status,” said Melissa Cossey, MD, Associate Chief Medical Officer, Dell Children’s Medical Center North Campus. The North Campus, the first pediatric hospital in Williams County, also features two operating rooms, endoscopy and procedure rooms, sleep labs, and shelled space for future growth.

“Dell Children’s Medical Center North Campus is designed to meet the specific healthcare needs of children and families in this growing community, now and long into the future. Dell Children’s North will provide comprehensive health, wellness and emergency services in a child-friendly environment,” said Cathy Heckenlively, MSN, MHA, RN-CENP, Chief Administrative Officer, Dell Children’s Medical Center North Campus

The celebration was featured by multiple Austin news outlets, including the Austin American-Statesman, CBS Austin, Community Impact and KVUE.
