Two nurses from Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan, recently were recognized at the 12th Annual Carleen K. Moore R.N. Nursing Excellence Awards, presented by Saginaw Valley State University. The awards recognize the outstanding achievements of nurses across specialties.
Melanie Goidosik, RN, surgical nurse at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital Surgery Center at Towne Centre, received the Nursing Excellence Award in Acute Care. She was recognized for being a patient advocate and always treating patients and families with sensitivity and compassion. She is also involved in community advocacy, including hosting a soup kitchen.
Jeanette Lambert, RN, nurse manager at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, was presented the Nursing Excellence Award in Nursing Education. She has worked diligently on strategies to decrease hospital-acquired infections and promote patient-centered care. Jeanette was also recognized for developing and implementing a variety of strategies to impact the quality of care across Ascension Michigan.
