Ascension Sacred Heart’s Dr. Gisbert earns top honor in obesity medicine

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is excited to announce one of its family medicine doctors, Dr. Celine Gisbert, has earned the highest distinction in obesity medicine as a Fellow of the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA). She is the first physician to earn this honor in Pensacola and only the 102nd physician to earn it nationwide.

OMA is the largest organization of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other health care providers who focus on obesity medicine. OMA members are experts in the field and specialize in the use of comprehensive, science-based and individualized approaches when treating obesity – ultimately aiming to help patients achieve their health goals.

“As a Fellow of OMA, I am able to act as an expert in my community and demonstrate my passion about the field as my team and I at Sacred Heart continue to seek new ways to treat obesity successfully,” said Dr. Gisbert. “I am blessed to be able to help my patients overcome this chronic disease and become healthier by using an evidence-based clinical approach.”
Dr. Gisbert currently cares for patients out of her downtown Pensacola clinic at 151 West Main St. and at the hospital’s Comprehensive Wellness Center on Summit Boulevard. Dr. Gisbert prides herself on offering holistic individualized care for patients, and recognizes that each patient deserves their own individualized care plan.

“Ascension Sacred Heart is full of excellent physicians who consistently provide high-level care to some of Northwest Florida’s most vulnerable people,” said Sacred Heart Medical Group Vice President Justin Labrato. “The work Dr. Gisbert provides to her patients is unmatched, and we are incredibly honored to have her caring for this community.”

In addition to obesity medicine, Sacred Heart Pensacola offers the city’s leading bariatric surgery program, and staffs an entire bariatrics care team at the Summit Boulevard location including specialized dieticians, psychologists, an obesity medicine specialist and a board-certified fellowship-trained surgeon with focused practice in metabolic and bariatric surgery. The Sacred Heart bariatric care team creates personalized plans for every patient, and specializes in key weight loss surgeries.

Having completed a multi-year process in becoming an obesity medicine Fellow, Dr. Gisbert’s distinction is the health system’s latest differentiator as it consistently pushes to provide the best possible weight loss and obesity medicine care possible.
