James Stepien Named Chief Operating Officer of Via Christi St. Francis

Via Christi has appointed James Stepien, BA, MHCL as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Via Christi St. Francis, effective August 18. In this role, Stepien is responsible for leading the development and implementation of operational strategies that align with the organization's mission, vision and values. He will oversee key areas of operational performance, including quality, associate engagement and financial management.

Stepien brings extensive experience in healthcare leadership from his previous roles including Chief Development Officer and Vice President of Business Development and Physician Relations and Outreach at a large healthcare system in Kansas. Throughout his career, he has a proven track record of growing hospital market share, resolving complex issues and using data analysis for strategic planning.

Stepien earned an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a Master of Health Care Leadership from Friends University. He serves on the boards of Project Access, the Child Advocacy Center and the Wichita Chamber of Commerce and is a founding board member of the Dream Big Association.
