Ascension St. Vincent Randolph Opens New Senior Renewal Services in Winchester

Ascension St. Vincent Randolph celebrated the opening of its new Senior Renewal Service Line with a ribbon cutting and community open house at Ascension St. Vincent Randolph Hospital in Winchester.

The new program expands access to specialized mental health care for older adults, addressing a growing need for senior-focused services in rural Indiana. Seniors often face unique emotional challenges such as anxiety, depression, difficulty coping with change, and trouble adjusting to retirement.

Through physician-supervised treatment, individual counseling, and group therapy, the Senior Renewal Center offers seniors a safe, supportive environment to share experiences and build resilience. Participants receive intensive treatment through group psychotherapy, where they gain insight into their conditions and learn effective coping strategies. Based on thorough assessments, clients can step up or down in levels of care depending on their individual needs.

To further increase access, the program also provides transportation to and from treatment. The Center coordinates rides for participants, including specially equipped vans for those who need wheelchair access or additional assistance.

“This service is a lifeline for seniors in our community,” said Audra Pierce, RN, MSN, Administrator and Chief Nursing Officer of Ascension St. Vincent Randolph. “By combining expert clinical care, compassionate group support, and reliable transportation, we are ensuring older adults in Randolph County and beyond can access the care they deserve without leaving the comfort of their community.”

The November 19 celebration brought together community leaders, care team members, and local residents to learn more about the new program and how it will enhance vital behavioral health support for older adults across the region.
