Ascension St. Vincent's St. Johns County performs 10,000 cases in operating room

Ascension St. Vincent’s St. Johns County is celebrating a major milestone as its surgical team surpasses 10,000 cases in the operating room.

Since opening its doors in July 2022, the hospital has steadily expanded access to surgical services, allowing patients to receive high-quality care close to home. Hospital leaders say reaching 10,000 cases reflects both the trust the community has placed in the organization and the dedication of its physicians, nurses and care teams.

“This milestone is indicative of our unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients in their own community,” said Sean McAfee, Interim President & CEO for Ascension St. Vincent’s St. Johns County. “From day one, our focus has been to ensure families don’t have to leave St. Johns to receive excellent surgical care.”

This achievement comes as the hospital approaches its fourth anniversary this summer. Ascension St. Vincent’s St. Johns County is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is located at 205 Trinity Way in St. Johns.
