Thomas Aloia Named Among Becker’s Healthcare “Chief Medical Officers to Know”

Ascension is proud to announce that Thomas Aloia, MD, MHCM, FACS, FACHE, Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer, has been recognized by Becker’s Healthcare as one of its “252 Hospital and Health System Chief Medical Officers to Know.” 

As Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Aloia leads clinical quality, safety, care transformation, and physician engagement across Ascension’s network. He oversees clinical initiatives including primary care redesign, specialty integration, and virtual care with the organization’s value-based goals. In partnership with strategy, nursing, and operations, his work focuses on strengthening coordinated care delivery while advancing scalable clinical models that improve patient outcomes and support clinicians and care teams.

Dr. Aloia is also working to advance innovation and research through leadership of Ascension’s Clinical Research Institute, a multidisciplinary team focused on improving patient care and the clinician experience through research, technology, and new care models.
