90 Year Old Volunteer Brings Comfort to Patients at at ASJMC

Volunteers are at the heart of our mission, giving of their time to make a patient's stay as comfortable as possible. Joe Efird, one of our outstanding volunteers at Ascension St. John Medical Center, has spent more than 16,000 hours answering phones, transporting patients, and offering comfort during what is often a stressful time.

At 90 years old, Joe proves every day that you are never too old to bring hope and comfort to those who need it most. His dedication to serving people with kindness and humility is an inspiration to our community.
