Ascension Serves More Than 4,200 Individuals Through Nationwide Medical Mission at Home Events

This spring, Ascension hosted 17 Medical Mission at Home events, delivering more than 19,000 services to over 4,200 people, with the support of approximately 4,000 volunteers. As Ascension’s flagship community outreach program, Medical Mission at Home brings one-day free healthcare events directly into communities across Ascension’s Ministry Markets.

The need for accessible healthcare continues to grow nationwide. More than 26.7 million people in the U.S. are uninsured, and nearly two-thirds report affordability as the primary barrier to obtaining coverage and care. As a result, many individuals and families are forced to delay treatment, skip preventive care, or go without essential health services altogether.

Medical Mission at Home is a direct response to this emerging need. All services are provided at no cost, with no insurance required. Services are tailored to the needs of each community and vary by event. Depending on the location, offerings may include primary care medical exams, dental screenings, fluoride treatments, immunizations, respiratory care, physical therapy assessments with guided exercises, and connections to community resources for ongoing care.

More than a healthcare event, Ascension’s Medical Mission at Home offers a reminder that every person deserves the opportunity to receive high-quality care close to where they live.
