Monica Hilt Named Ministry Health Care Regional VP

Ministry Health Care, a member of Ascension, named Monica Hilt as President for St. Elizabeth Hospital and Regional Vice President for Ministry Health Care’s Eastern Region effective earlier this week.

St. Elizabeth Hospital is part of Affinity Health System, which joined Ministry Health Care in 2012.

In her new role as Eastern Region Vice President, Hilt will be responsible for directing the performance of St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, Wisconsin, St. Elizabeth Hospital Foundation, Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Mercy Health Foundation and Calumet Medical Center in Chilton, Wisconsin.

St. Elizabeth Hospital offers a wide range of top-tier healthcare services, including a 24-hour emergency department, oncology, cardiology, neurology and orthopedics. St. Elizabeth Hospital also has a neonatal intensive care unit and a state-of-the-art BirthPlace Center, known for the high level of medical care and amenities it offers new mothers, infants and families.

“Monica is a talented and engaging leader who has been part of the Ministry Health Care organization for over 20 years,” said Daniel Neufelder, President and CEO of Ministry Health Care. “She has enjoyed great success with Ministry and is known for her strong associate engagement, excellent physician relations, exemplary financial skills and unwavering commitment to person-centered care. We are excited Monica will be assuming the leadership role in Ministry’s Eastern Region.”

Prior to this appointment, she served as Regional Vice President of Ministry’s Northern Region, a position she has held since 2008. Before that Hilt was President of Sacred Heart-Saint Mary’s Hospitals in Tomahawk and Rhinelander, Wisconsin. She has also held leadership roles in human resources, support services and quality during her tenure with Ministry. Hilt holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Information Administration from the University of Wisconsin and is working on a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from Ohio University.

“Monica has a clear strategic vision that will be important in the years ahead for Ministry’s Eastern Region and across the entire healthcare system as we move forward as part of Ascension,” said Nick Desien, Ascension Ministry Market Leader for Wisconsin, Kansas and Oklahoma. “I have worked with Monica for many years and know that her background and skills make her an excellent choice for this role.”
