7 Win Consumer Choice Awards

Seven Ascension hospitals have been named winners of the Consumer Choice Award by National Research Corporation (NRC).

The award, recognizing the hospitals rated by consumers in their local markets as having the best quality care and best reputation, went to Providence Hospital, Mobile, Alabama; Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola, Florida; St. Mary's Medical Center, Evansville, Indiana; Genesys Regional Medical Center, Grand Blanc, Michigan; Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, New York; St. John Medical Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Seton Medical Center Austin, Texas.

NRC's survey is conducted annually in metropolitan markets across the U.S. The results for the past year showed that once again, consumers in these markets gave their highest ratings to Ascension hospitals.

The award for consumer preference was based on an internet-based questionnaire and responses gathered from September 2014 to the end of August 2015. Winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings. The study surveys more than 300,000 households representing consumers in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia.

"For each of the past 20 years, winning hospitals have provided outstanding experiences that have built consumer preference, loyalty and trust in their markets. We are honored to congratulate this year's winners on a job well done," said Brian Wynne, vice president of Business Development at NRC.
