Wall Street Journal Asks Ascension CEO About State of Union Address

Ascension’s President and CEO was among a handful of national leaders asked by The Wall Street Journal to react to President Obama’s 2016 State of the Union address. Anthony R. Tersigni, EdD, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ascension, serves as a member of the CEO Council of The Wall Street Journal.

Following the speech on January 12, Dr. Tersigni said: “While we have made some progress as a nation toward the goal of 100 percent (healthcare) access and 100 percent coverage for all, the president and Congress need to continue to dialogue about ways to more effectively and efficiently address the health and wellness needs of all Americans – particularly those in poverty who are struggling the most.”

The Wall Street Journal story, which is behind a paywall, also included comments from the leaders of McGraw Hill Financial, Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, AGCO Corp., and California Resources Corp.
