Ascension Wins Awards for Marketing and Communications Efforts

Ascension is a winner in two categories for the 2017 Nonprofit and CSR Awards by PR News, a publication about communications and marketing.

Last week in Washington, D.C., PR News gathered hundreds of communications and public relations professionals to celebrate the top campaigns making a positive impact in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) and nonprofit sectors.

Your Move: Ascension Empowers Ferguson Youth through Chess is a winner in the Community Affairs category of the CSR Awards. “Partnering with the [St. Louis] Chess Club, Ascension reached out to the Ferguson-Florissant School District to propose a free after-school program in each of the district’s 20 elementary and middle schools. The goal was to give young people a place to grow academically and socially—all in a safe, nurturing environment,” PR News said.

For the Nonprofit Awards, Moving to a Unified Ascension Brand is a winner in the Branding/Re-Branding category. “To support its transformation into an integrated national system that brings the best medical practices and innovation to every patient and community it serves, Ascension has focused on moving to a centralized governance structure, the adoption of a unified mission and the evolution to one Ascension brand,” the publication said.

Ascension also received honorable mentions for its Diversity and Inclusion Op-ed Program and Good Day Ascension: A Journey to One Integrated Ministry campaigns in their respective categories.

“These awards recognize the work of many people in the Ascension Marketing and Communications Ministry-wide Function, but ultimately they acknowledge the important efforts of all associates as together we build one integrated national ministry to serve individuals and communities,” said Nick Ragone, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer.
