St. Vincent’s in Jacksonville Names New Chief Executive Officer

Tom VanOsdol has been named Senior Vice President, Ascension Healthcare, and Jacksonville Ministry Market Executive, also serving as President and CEO of St. Vincent’s HealthCare, after serving as interim CEO since January.

Tom joined St. Vincent’s in 2015 as Chief Operating Officer of Clinically Integrated Systems of Care. Earlier he served as President of the Northeast Region of St. Vincent, in the Ascension Indiana Ministry Market. He began his Ascension career in 1990 as a speech-language pathologist at the Ascension hospital in Anderson, Indiana. He later became Vice President of Operations at Anderson and in 2008 became Regional President.

“Over the course of his career, Tom has proven to be an inspired, virtuous servant leader,” said Patricia A. Maryland, Dr.PH, Executive Vice President, Ascension, and President and Chief Executive Officer, Ascension Healthcare. “This is a reflection of the confidence that the Board and the executive leadership of Ascension have in Tom’s capabilities, experience and commitment to our Mission.”

“Tom has done an incredible job as interim CEO. The Board of Directors is confident he’s the right leader to represent St. Vincent’s and grow our footprint in the region,” said Paul Chappano, M.D., and Chairman of the St. Vincent’s HealthCare board.

Tom is a past participant in the Ascension Executive Ministry Leadership formation program and is a graduate of the Ascension Leadership Academy. He earned a Master of Science degree in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion, Indiana, and a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana.
