Article highlights Ascension Living program’s impact

PACE (Programs of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) is one of many programs Ascension Living provides to help individuals 55 or older live safely in the community. A recent article in the Chattanooga Times Free Press shares how the Tennessee-based Alexian Brothers PACE program forever changed the life of one participant, Jeffery Henson.

After spending a day with the participant and his new multidisciplinary PACE care team, reporter Elizabeth Fite and photographer Erin Smith were able to capture the true life of a PACE participant – before and after.

“I’m so grateful they took the time to really paint the big picture, especially in light of the complex layers on a macro level of the rising healthcare crisis of our aging population lacking support to remain at home,” said Rachel Tinaya, LMSW, Director of Marketing, Alexian Brothers PACE.

Ascension Living currently operates three PACE centers: Alexian Brothers PACE in Chattanooga, Wichita PACE in Kansas, and Genesys PACE of Genesee County in Michigan. PACE is a national care model that is reimbursable through Medicare and Medicaid. PACE programs coordinate and provide all needed preventive, primary, acute and long-term care services so older individuals can continue living in the community.
