Ascension’s Nursing Transformation Unit and its launch at Ascension Saint Thomas West Hospital in Tennessee were featured recently by Becker’s Hospital Review.
Becker’s list of “40+ hospitals and health systems with great innovation programs” said that the Nursing Transformation Unit tackles the nursing shortage and workplace burnout, as well as improves quality of care.
“Following the implementation of the Nursing Transformation Unit, [Ascension] Saint Thomas West has experienced major improvements in both quality metrics – measuring falls, restraint usage, pressure ulcers, readmissions and more – and patient satisfaction scores,” Becker’s said. “The facility’s nurses, too, have reported greater workplace satisfaction, helping them to be more engaged and better prepared to provide high-quality care”
