Ascension Texas opens small-scale hospital in Bastrop

The opening of the small-scale hospital Ascension Seton Bastrop, part of Ascension Texas, was featured in a segment by KVUE and by the Austin American-Statesman.

The hospital will hold a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Jan. 23.

The 40,000-square-foot facility includes an emergency department, imaging services, 14 inpatient beds, two minor procedure rooms, and medical office spaces that will offer patients primary and specialty care services, including cardiac rehabilitation, maternal fetal medicine and family medicine. A women’s diagnostic imaging service is currently available in the facility, and mammogram and bone density scanning will become available in spring 2020, along with outpatient radiology services. The hospital also includes a 24-hour medical lab.

Outpatient physician practices and specialty services like the Seton Heart Institute, the Seton Brain and Spine Institute and outpatient imaging will be offered at the hospital beginning in January.

“We are excited to expand our services in Bastrop to meet the changing healthcare needs of the community and its surrounding areas,” said Andy Davis, Senior Vice President, Ascension, and Ministry Market Executive, Ascension Texas. “Ascension Seton Bastrop provides a wide range of high-quality medical care, keeping families close to home.”

According to census data, Bastrop County is among the top 50 fastest-growing counties in the United States. The 35-acre hospital site is designed so the facility can grow and expand services as needed.
