Dr. Tamarah Duperval-Brownlee one of ‘Top 25 Women Leaders’

Tamarah Duperval-Brownlee, MD, MPH, MBA has been selected as one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Women Leaders in Healthcare for 2021.

As Senior Vice President and Chief Community Impact Officer, Dr. Duperval-Brownlee coordinates Ascension's efforts to optimize the physical, mental, and financial health and well-being of communities across Ascension markets.

“She is deeply committed to advancing our Mission and to transforming healthcare to promote an integrated experience for those we serve,” said Joseph R. Impicciche, JD, MHA, President and Chief Executive Officer.

A key part of her role is collaborating with partners across the industry and nonprofit community to advance community health improvement initiatives,with a focus on primary care as well as efforts to address the social determinants of health as part of Ascension’s commitment to equity and access to care. She has been instrumental in helping to lead the transition of Providence Health System's hospital in Washington, D.C., into a community resource that is inclusive of both healthcare and other services not traditionally considered part of healthcare.

Dr. Duperval-Brownlee also has led Ascension’s national COVID-19 Vaccine Equity task force to ensure the specific needs of all populations, especially Black and Latino populations, are addressed during the vaccine rollout.
