Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola named a top-50 cardiovascular hospital in the U.S. for the seventh time

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola has been named as one of the nation’s 50 best cardiovascular hospitals by Fortune and PINC AI, marking the seventh time the hospital has been named on the prestigious list.

Sacred Heart Pensacola is the only Northwest Florida hospital and only one of five Florida hospitals on the 2024 list. PINC AI is a technology and services platform that tracks and reports clinical processes and outcomes.

This year, about 950 hospitals in the U.S. were assessed for the top-50 list across 23 different measurements. PINC AI looked at metrics like clinical outcomes, efficiency and patient experience.

“I’m thankful for the heart team we have here because they are on the front lines helping us achieve this award. For over a century, our hospital has cared for our community, and we are honored to continue to serve Pensacola with high-quality and compassionate care,” said Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola President & CEO Will Condon. “It feels incredibly rewarding to see a Pensacola hospital standing out at the national level.”

Heart health has maintained an acutely pertinent role in American life as cardiovascular disease is the country’s number-one killer. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, someone dies of heart disease every 33 seconds and about one-fifth of all deaths in the U.S. in 2020 were related to heart disease.

“This is a signifier of everything we stand for in striving to deliver the best possible care,” said Ascension Sacred Heart interventional cardiologist Dr. Mark Grise. “Every person on our team, past, and present, has worked diligently to serve the Pensacola community and beyond.”

In addition to this measurable success, Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola also features the Regional Heart and Vascular Institute, the largest cardiovascular health center in Northwest Florida.
