Today, Ascension Seton Highland Lakes announced that for the sixth time, it has received the Pathway to Excellence® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The Pathway designation is a global credential that highlights our hospital's commitment to creating a healthy work environment where nurses feel empowered and valued. The nurses are an integral part of the healthcare team, with a voice in policy and practice. Pathway nurses are engaged, resulting in higher job satisfaction, reduced turnover, improved safety, and better patient outcomes.
“I am thrilled that our hospital has been recognized again by the ANCC for this prestigious designation for our nursing program,” said Karen Litterer, Administrator & Chief Nursing Officer, Ascension Seton Highland Lakes. “Guided by our Mission to serve with compassion and provide personalized care to all, we empower our nursing team to lead a collaborative and comprehensive program that delivers consistent and incredible care to every individual who comes through our doors. Congratulations to our entire team for their commitment to excellence, dedication to safety, best practices, and supporting one another each and every day.”
As a Pathway organization, Ascension Seton Highland Lakes leads the effort to enhance quality patient care, patient safety, as well as the future of healthcare delivery. ASHL's recognition by the ANCC traces back to a 2006 “Texas Nurse Friendly” award before the Pathway to Excellence® designations were established. This 6th designation underscores their elite status among ANCC designated facilities and is valid for four years.
Ascension Seton Highland Lakes is a Critical Access Hospital with specialty care services - including cardiology, orthopedics, urology, general surgery, cardiac and pulmonary rehab, spine care, and imaging services. In addition, this medical campus is a full-service hospital with 24/7 emergency care and a Level IV Trauma Center with an intensive care unit. We offer a wide range of minimally invasive robotic surgical procedures, imaging, lab tests and rehabilitation services, all on one campus.
