Ascension St. Vincent's is excited to announce a new investment and partnership with V for Victory to support patients and their families in their fight against cancer. With this partnership, the V for Victory's Business Partner Program will now officially be called the Ascension St. Vincent's Business Partner Program.
This partnership will help V for Victory connect local businesses and service providers with adults, children and families battling cancer, offering critical everyday services such as food, auto repairs and home maintenance at no cost to those served. Ascension St. Vincent’s investment will help expand the program’s reach and recruit hundreds of new business partners each year.
"Cancer patients are among one of the most vulnerable in Northeast Florida and their families need all the support we can provide," said Scott Kashman, President and CEO, Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside. “This investment and partnership with V for Victory aligns with our Mission of serving all persons with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable.”
A cancer diagnosis can affect the entire family, disrupting routines, changing roles and creating significant financial, emotional and social stress. Family members may also experience psychosocial effects such as feelings of worry, fear and guilt, while taking on new responsibilities and potential changes in their personal health.
“The entire family unit often makes sacrifices to rally around their loved one through cancer treatment,” said Dr. Martin Martino, gynecological oncologist at Ascension St. Vincent’s. “That support can often take a toll on everyone. This program helps ease that burden.”
The partnership is expected to strengthen community connections and expand services to more families throughout Northeast Florida and beyond.
"This generous investment from Ascension St. Vincent’s will help V for Victory serve even more families and expand our reach far beyond Northeast Florida," said Paul Scott, founder of V for Victory. "Together, we are building a stronger network of support for those facing cancer."
