Ascension Wisconsin Welcomes Melinda Fagan as  Chief Human Resources Executive

Ascension Wisconsin is pleased to announce that Melinda S. Fagan, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, has joined Ascension Wisconsin as Chief Human Resources Executive (CHRE). 

Fagan joins Ascension from Atlantic Health System, where she served as Regional HR Director for a 22,000-employee healthcare organization. In that role, she led workforce, talent and culture strategies for nearly 10,000 team members across hospital, corporate and physician enterprise settings.

“Melinda is a strategic and visionary HR leader with extensive experience aligning people strategy with organizational performance,” said Daniel Jackson, Chief Executive Officer, Ascension Wisconsin. “Her skills, experience and personality make her an excellent fit for this role and we’re pleased to have her join the Ascension Wisconsin team.”

Throughout her career, Fagan has built resilient teams, strengthened leadership pipelines and led enterprise-wide transformation. She has guided organizations through mergers, acquisitions and workforce redesign, always focused on engagement, leadership development and long-term organizational health. Her previous experience includes HR leadership roles with Fitch Ratings, Toys “R” Us, and Saint Clare’s Health System.

Fagan earned her Executive Master of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Baruch College and a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication from Syracuse University. She holds certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).
