Ascension Seton Introduces Gentle Breathing Support: First Baby Graduates NICU with New Jet Ventilator Technology

We are so excited to celebrate a major milestone at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin!  Brooks Tamez is the first baby to graduate from the NICU after receiving care using our new jet ventilators, a gentler breathing support option for our most fragile premature babies.

Brooks received this specialized treatment for 128 days. Congratulations to Brooks, his mother Sarah (who works in the PICU at Dell Children’s!) his father Daniel, the entire Ascension Seton Medical Center NICU team, and the Dell Children’s Medical Center neonatology team!

This technology, now available at both Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin and Dell Children’s Medical Center, makes Ascension the first and only hospital to have this medical technology in Austin. It minimizes the potential for lung injuries and ensures seamless care for infants who may need specialized support at either location.
