Saint Thomas Health in Nashville, Tennessee, an Ascension ministry, is featured in a new series of videos produced by the American Hospital Association showing the benefits of the 340B Drug Pricing Program.
Three of the videos focus on how Saint Thomas uses savings from the program to reinvest in patient care programs, how scaling back the program would hurt patients and communities served by Saint Thomas, and how the program reduces the costs of pharmaceuticals for its eligible patients.
In September, David A. Neu, PharmD, MSHSA, Executive Director of Pharmacy Services at Saint Thomas Health, participated in a briefing on Capitol Hill sponsored by the AHA urging Congress to protect the program.
The AHA also produced reports on the positive impact of 340B on several hospitals, including Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital and Saint Thomas Hickman Hospital.
