Ascension Saint Thomas River Park is expanding access to expert cardiovascular care in McMinnville and surrounding communities with the addition of board-certified cardiologist Dr. Scott Reising.
Warren County has added more than more than 4,000 since 2010, increasing the need for advanced, local specialty care, particularly in cardiovascular health. Heart disease remains one of the leading health concerns in Tennessee, making timely access to preventive and specialized cardiology services increasingly important for patients and families.
The addition of Dr. Reising strengthens access to advanced heart care close to home, supporting earlier diagnosis, ongoing disease management, and preventive care for patients who might otherwise need to travel outside the community for specialty services.
Dr. Reising specializes in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease and has more than 15 years of clinical experience. His areas of focus include preventive cardiology, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathies, and cardiac arrhythmias. He also performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as transesophageal echocardiograms and electrical cardioversions. Dr. Reising emphasizes early identification of cardiovascular risk factors, often before symptoms develop, and the use of evidence-based treatment strategies to reduce the likelihood of heart attack, stroke, and heart failure.
“Patients deserve to fully understand their heart health and feel empowered in the decisions they make,” Dr. Reising said. “My goal is to partner with each patient to identify risk early, provide clear guidance, and help them take meaningful steps toward a healthier future.”
Appointments can be scheduled by calling 931-815-3420.
Dr. Reising earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic. He went on to complete a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. He is board-certified in cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Reising enjoys reading, spending time outdoors with his two golden retrievers, and traveling with his wife, Christina.
