David Pryor, MD, Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer, Ascension, has been named by Becker’s Hospital Review to its “100 Hospital and Health System CMOs to Know/2016” list. The annual list comprises physician leaders who have demonstrated a commitment to improving and innovating on patient safety and quality endeavors.
Becker’s notes that the CMOs selected to the list “exhibit dedication to clinical leadership and have contributed to establishing standards of excellence at their respective organizations.”
CMOs were selected through an editorial review process; leaders cannot pay for inclusion.
Dr. Pryor has been part of Ascension for 15 years and also serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Ascension Clinical Holdings. He earlier served as Chief Medical Officer of Ascension Health. Prior to joining Ascension he was Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Alina Health System in Minneapolis, President of New England Medical Center Hospitals in Boston, and held various positions at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He continues to serve as a Consulting Associate Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center.
