Andy Davis named Ministry Market Executive, Ascension Texas

Andy Davis has been selected to serve as Senior Vice President, Ascension, and Ministry Market Executive, Ascension Texas. Andy has been filling this role on an interim basis since July 1. Earlier he served as the Ministry Market’s Chief Operating Officer (COO).

As MME for Ascension Texas, Andy will continue the work that has been accomplished in aligning the strengths of Ascension Seton in Austin and Ascension Providence in Waco to better serve individuals in those communities.

Andy has an extensive background as a healthcare executive, which includes acute care, long-term care, ambulatory care and physician practices. He has been with Ascension for more than 13 years, and just last year, in addition to serving as Ascension Texas COO, he was asked to take a lead role in Mission-inspired Transformation efforts to help redefine excellence in surgical care across Ascension.

Before joining Ascension Texas, Andy was Chief Operating Officer at Ascension St. Vincent’s Health System in Birmingham, Alabama. Earlier he worked in Mobile, Alabama, as administrative director for Infirmary Health. In 2006 he accepted a position at St. Vincent’s Health System as vice president of physician recruitment and relations. Four years later he became President and COO for St. Vincent’s Birmingham hospital, leading high-performance teams and establishing strong physician partnerships. His remarkable leadership resulted in him being named one of the Birmingham Business Journal’s Top 40 under 40.

Andy has been active in the communities where he has lived. In Alabama he served on the Alabama Hospital Association Governing Board and the Birmingham Chapter of Kiwanis. He also served as a board member for Girls, Inc.

Andy is a graduate of the Ascension Leadership Academy and was part of community 6 of the Ascension Executive Ministry Leadership formation program. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Management of Information Systems as well as a master’s degree in business administration and another in healthcare administration, all from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
