Ascension Texas Names Dr. Joshua Pozos as Chief Clinical Officer

Ascension Texas is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Joshua Pozos as Chief Clinical Officer for the market. In this leadership role, Dr. Pozos will oversee clinical strategy and medical operations across Ascension Texas, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care throughout the region.

Dr. Pozos steps into this position after serving as Chief Medical Officer for Ascension Seton Hays. His appointment reinforces the organization’s focus on clinical excellence and its mission to provide personalized care for all members of the community.

“Dr. Pozos has a proven ability to balance complex clinical strategy with a clear focus on the patient experience,” said Jamie Youseff, CEO of Ascension Texas. “His experience within our system and his commitment to quality make him the right leader to drive our clinical operations forward.”

In his previous leadership roles, Dr. Pozos successfully led initiatives to improve patient outcomes, decrease recovery times, and enhance safety. 

“I am honored to take on this responsibility and continue working with our dedicated teams,” said Joshua Pozos, M.D, Chief Clinical Officer for Ascension Texas “My priority is to ensure that our clinical teams are rooted in our commitment to treat every patient.”

Dr. Pozos previously served as a hospitalist and educator at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and worked within the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System. He holds a medical degree from The University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio, a Master of Public Health from The University of Texas at Houston, and a Bachelor of Science from The University of Texas at Austin.
