15 Ascension Living communities named to Best Nursing Homes list

Fifteen Ascension Living skilled nursing facilities have been named by U.S. News and World Report as some of “America’s Best Nursing Homes.” U.S. News and World Report identified the Best Nursing Homes for 2019-2020 after evaluating more than 15,000 homes nationwide, in every state and nearly 100 major metropolitan areas. The Ascension Living skilled nursing facilities awarded the prestigious U.S. News and World Report badges:

“This designation is evidence of our dedication to our Mission and to providing personalized care and service to our residents and guests by every member of the Ascension Living team,” said Danny Stricker, President, Ascension Post-Acute Services. “It is an honor to have 15 of our communities nationally recognized by this leading publication. I am grateful to our talented, caring associates, who are driven by a commitment to deliver quality care.”

Most skilled nursing facilities (nursing homes) received one of three ratings – High Performing, Average, or Below Average – for both Short-stay Rehabilitation and Long-term Care. The ratings are based on a U.S. News in-depth analysis of publicly available data, including information that is not factored into Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services star ratings. Unlike those star ratings, the U.S. News ratings recognize that patients undergoing relatively short-term rehabilitation have very different needs from those who require longer-term care. Only 19% of U.S. nursing homes earned at least one badge.
