Ascension campaign wins highest honor in 2019 Healthcare Marketing Impact Awards

An Ascension marketing campaign for Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis received a top award in the 2019 Healthcare Marketing Impact Awards.

Publication Modern Healthcare and its judges honored the hospital’s “Big Kid” Campaign featuring NFL great Peyton Manning with the “Gold” Video Campaign of the Year award in the Provider/Insurer category. This is the highest honor in this category.

The lighthearted campaign highlights the specialized pediatric healthcare provided at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis. The campaign was featured earlier in Modern Healthcare. “The former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos quarterback is humorously out of his element as he reads his playbook to one child, leads a group of patients in a huddle and wonders if they have a bedpan in Colts blue,” Modern Healthcare said.

“We’re honored to receive this recognition from Modern Healthcare, and a big reason for the success of the campaign is Peyton,” said Nick Ragone, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Ascension. “He has been unwavering in his commitment to serving the children of the Indianapolis area and has always been generous with his time.”

“As we continue to develop our national brand, marketing such as the campaign for the children’s hospital is critical to strengthening our reputation as a healthcare leader in the communities we’re privileged to serve,” he said.

The complete list of this year’s winners is available here. Modern Healthcare announced the ranking and list of winners in its publication on Nov. 4.

“Technology in this day and age means that consumers face a near-constant barrage of marketing messages. That’s made impact especially difficult for marketers. The complexity and regulations that are specific to healthcare bring even bigger challenges,” said Modern Healthcare editor Aurora Aguilar. “So when healthcare marketers are able to cut through the noise and make an impression, it should be rewarded. The winners of the 2019 Healthcare Marketing Impact Awards created meaningful and engaging campaigns that connected with their audiences.”
