Several Ascension hospitals receive CMS 5-star ratings

Multiple Ascension hospitals in several markets were recognized for receiving a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in Becker’s Clinical Leadership & Infection Control’s “The 407 hospitals with 5 stars from CMS.”

CMS assigned star ratings to more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide based on their performance across seven areas of quality. This is the first star ratings update since February 2019.

CMS recognized the following Ascension hospitals with a 5-star rating:

  • Ascension Florida: Ascension Sacred Heart Gulf (Port Saint Joe)
  • Ascension Illinois: AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Medical Center (Elk Grove Village), AMITA Health Resurrection Medical Center (Chicago), and AMITA Health Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center (Chicago)
  • Ascension Indiana: Ascension St. Vincent Carmel Hospital and Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana (Indianapolis)
  • Ascension Kansas: Kansas Heart Hospital (Wichita) (a joint venture hospital)
  • Ascension Michigan: Ascension Providence Hospital (Southfield) and Ascension Standish Hospital
  • Ascension Oklahoma: Ascension St. John Broken Arrow and Ascension St. John Owasso
  • Ascension Tennessee: Ascension Saint Thomas Dekalb Hospital (Smithville)
  • Ascension Wisconsin: Ascension Eagle River Hospital and Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital (Stevens Point)
