Ascension Saint Agnes Leadership Change

Effective May 19, Ed Lovern, MHA, FACHE, will be transitioning out of his role as President and CEO, Ascension Saint Agnes in Baltimore, to pursue an opportunity outside of Ascension.

“Ed joined our ministry in July 2020, leading the Baltimore team throughout the pandemic and focusing on ensuring Ascension Saint Agnes was serving the community and supporting associates through this challenging time,” said Tim P. Adams, Senior Vice President and Regional Operating Officer, Ascension. “His achievements include leading the collaboration between Morgan State University’s new medical school and Ascension Saint Agnes, where the school’s medical residents will train. The new school will focus on osteopathic medicine and will be the first new medical school at a Historically Black College or University in 45 years.”

Beau Higginbotham, CPA, MHA, who currently serves as Chief Strategy Officer, Ascension Saint Agnes, will serve as interim President and CEO. Beau has served with Ascension in Baltimore for more than 11 years in strategic and operational leadership roles for Ascension Saint Agnes and Ascension Medical Group. During that time, Beau spearheaded a new patient-centered model for primary care facilities that has become the region's gold standard for care delivery.
