Ascension hospitals’ orthopedic programs recognized

Ascension hospitals in Michigan and Florida were recognized among “100 hospitals and health systems with great orthopedic programs | 2023” by Becker’s Hospital Review.

The publication hailed the hospitals for their “exceptional” orthopedic care and recognition from “prestigious rankings organizations.”

On the list:

  • Ascension Michigan. Ascension Michigan includes orthopedic, sports medicine and rehabilitation services across the state, Becker’s noted. The system's surgeons performed over 20,000 orthopedic surgeries in the last year across specialties including hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, foot, ankle, hand, spine and more.

  • Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola in Florida. The hospital’s orthopedic facility operates as a tertiary care referral center for complex primary and revision joint surgery.

  • Performance Orthopedics and Spine Specialty Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent’s, Jacksonville, Florida. The hospital delivers personalized and comprehensive orthopedic care, Becker’s said.

Two Ascension joint venture hospitals in Wisconsin also made the list:

  • Midwest Orthopedic Specialty Hospital in Franklin, a 16-bed, 38-specialist acute care hospital jointly owned by physicians and Ascension Wisconsin.

  • Orthopedic Hospital of Wisconsin in Glendale, a physician-owned part of Ascension Wisconsin with 10 operating rooms and 30 inpatient beds.
