Ascension Announces Managed Care Leadership Transition

Ascension, one of the nation’s largest non-profit Catholic health systems, announced the departure of Michael McMillan, Senior Vice President and Chief Managed Care Officer, following a distinguished career in healthcare. Michael will be transitioning from Ascension on March 3, 2025.

Michael has been a transformative leader at Ascension, guiding the organization’s managed care strategy with unparalleled expertise. His leadership has shaped key areas such as contract negotiations, innovative payment models, and value-based initiatives, leaving a lasting impact on patients, providers, and the healthcare system. Under his direction, Ascension has strengthened relationships with health plans, advanced population health, and developed sustainable value-based payment strategies.

On December 2, 2024, Todd Moore joined Ascension as the new Senior Vice President and Chief Managed Care Officer. Todd brings a wealth of experience from his tenure at the Mayo Clinic, where he served as Chair, Revenue Strategy & Innovation. In this role, Todd oversaw strategic revenue growth, payer and employer contracting, and government program reimbursement for all sites and services. His portfolio included leading comprehensive revenue-related initiatives and departments. Todd holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Illinois.

“We are immensely grateful for Michael’s visionary contributions to Ascension,” said Saurabh Tripathi, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Ascension. “His work has laid the foundation for innovative managed care solutions that will benefit our ministry for years to come. At the same time, we are thrilled to welcome Todd Moore, whose exceptional experience and leadership will help us build on this legacy.”

Michael and Todd will work closely together to ensure a seamless transition of leadership.
