Fourteen Ascension hospitals earn an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group

Fourteen Ascension hospitals have earned an "A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit organization focused on advancing patient safety. These grades reflect Ascension’s dedication to creating a safe, reliable environment for every patient. Leapfrog assigns an "A," "B," "C," "D" or "F" grade to general hospitals across the country based on more than 22 performance measures reflecting accidents, errors, injuries and infections, as well as the systems and protocols hospitals have in place to prevent them.

Nearly 78% of all Ascension facilities scored by Leapfrog earned either an “A” or “B” Hospital Safety Grade. Additionally, the composite grade point average for Ascension facilities with Leapfrog grades is 3.1, as compared to the Leapfrog national average of 3.0.
