Erika Troutman Named CNO, COO for Via Christi St. Teresa and Rehabilitation Hospital

Via Christi has named Erika Troutman, MSN, RN, as its new Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Via Christi St. Teresa and Via Christi Rehabilitation Hospital. Troutman brings over 25 years of extensive healthcare experience, including a decade in nursing leadership, to her new role.

In her dual role as CNO and COO, Troutman will be responsible for overseeing hospital and nursing operations at the two Via Christi hospitals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and continuing to foster a culture of excellence and professional development among associates and the nursing team.

Prior to joining Via Christi, Troutman served in several emergency services leadership roles in Dallas, Las Vegas and most recently in Kansas as Market Vice President of Emergency Services. In these positions, she was instrumental in improving key emergency department outcomes, reducing patient wait times, and significantly increasing patient experience scores across multiple campuses.

She holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Western Governors University, as well as an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from the College of Southern Nevada. She has also received multiple awards and recognitions for her contributions to nursing, including being named one of the DFW Great 100 Nurses in 2023 and a two-time recipient of the Nurse of the Year runner-up award from the March of Dimes.

"We are thrilled to welcome Erika Troutman to the Via Christi leadership team," said Lori Tackett, President of Via Christi St. Teresa. "Her proven track record of enhancing patient care, improving operational efficiency and fostering a supportive environment for nursing staff will be invaluable as we continue to grow and serve our community."

Troutman started in the role on July 21.
