Ascension St. John earns Tulsa’s first Level 1 Trauma Center status

Tulsa now has its first and only verified Level I Trauma Center. Ascension St. John Medical Center has earned the designation from the American College of Surgeons, a recognition that signals the highest standard of care for patients with the most critical injuries.

The announcement comes as Ascension St. John prepares to mark 100 years of serving Northeast Oklahoma. What began as a single hospital has grown into a network of seven hospitals and more than 80 clinics, employing over 6,000 people. The system has become a regional leader in trauma care, stroke treatment, surgical robotics and cardiovascular services.
