Dell Children's Medical Center Unveils $22 Million Intraoperative MRI Surgical Suite

Dell Children's Medical Center is now home to a $22 million intraoperative MRI surgical suite which includes the use of the latest tools and advancements for brain surgeries for children. This cutting-edge technology allows our neurosurgeons, including co-chief of neurosciences, Dr. Elias Rizk and Dr. Mohammed Iqbalto perform complex procedures like ablations for epilepsy, tumor removals and other procedures without ever moving the patient from the operating room. This advancement leads to safer, more efficient, and precise surgeries for our young patients.

This state-of-the-art technology was made possible by the work of Dell Children's HERE Campaign, a philanthropic effort focused on ensuring that world-class care is available right here, at home, in Central Texas.

Dell Children's Pediatric Neurology & Neurosurgery program, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin, was recently ranked as one of the top programs in the country by the U.S. News & World report. Our hospital is one of the few pediatric hospitals in the country with this next-level technology and overall acute patient care. We are committed to providing every available advanced option to our community and continuing to be a destination hospital for complex treatments.

"It opens up the door for Dell Children's to improve health care and to teach the world," -Dr. Elias Rizk
