Medical Mission at Home Brings No-Cost Care and Resources to Anderson Families

Ascension St. Vincent Anderson welcomed hundreds of community members to its Medical Mission at Home event on Saturday, September 27, 2025, providing free healthcare services, screenings, and community resources in a family-friendly setting.

The event offered a wide range of no-cost medical services, including flu shots, pediatric dental checks, mammograms, vision screenings, A1C tests and behavioral health consultations. Guests also received access to social service resources, food and personal care bags, car seats, bike helmets, and other items aimed at supporting families in need.

Beyond health services, families enjoyed tours of a Stat Flight medical helicopter, fire safety lessons with the City of Anderson Fire Department and interactive activities with local first responders. A complimentary cookout brought neighbors together in celebration of community and wellness.

Marion Teixeira, president of Ascension St. Vincent Anderson, said:

“This event truly reflects our mission to serve the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. By partnering with local organizations and bringing healthcare and social services directly to the community, we’re helping to remove barriers and connect families with the resources they need. We are grateful to everyone who joined us and to the many volunteers, caregivers, and partners who made the day possible.”

The Medical Mission at Home initiative is part of Ascension St. Vincent’s commitment to providing compassionate, community-based care with special attention to those who are most vulnerable.
