Ascension Wisconsin Hospitals Partner with WHA Foundation to Support Future Healthcare Professionals

In an effort to foster the next generation of health care professionals and ensure a robust health care workforce for the future, Ascension Elmbrook Hospital and Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital have each partnered with the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) Foundation in supporting the creation of “HOSA - Future Health Professionals” chapters at area schools.

HOSA is an international student organization dedicated to promoting career opportunities in the health industry and enhancing the delivery of quality healthcare to all people.

“Supporting HOSA is a great way to provide students with opportunities to develop leadership skills and gain real-world experience in health care settings,” said Kurt Schley, president of Ascension Elmbrook Hospital. “It is vitally important to foster the next generation of healthcare professionals.”

"We are pleased to support the establishment of a HOSA chapter," said Mike Bergmann, president of Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital. “By helping to nurture and educate future healthcare professionals, we are helping to ensure the long-term sustainability and quality of healthcare in our community."

Ascension Elmbrook Hospital and Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital each contributed $500 to match the WHA Foundation's funding, bringing the total support for each new chapter to $1,000. These funds will be used for HOSA advisor stipends and student travel, registration fees for events, membership dues and more.
