Ascension earns national recognition for excellence in patient financial communications

Ascension, one of the nation’s leading nonprofit and Catholic health systems, has been recognized by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) as a Patient Financial Communications Adopter, marking a major milestone in the organization’s ongoing commitment to patient-centered care.

By achieving this designation, Ascension joins a select group of high-performing health systems nationwide that are setting the standard for transparency, clarity, and compassion in financial communications with patients.

“At Ascension, we believe that providing quality care includes ensuring our patients feel supported and informed throughout their entire journey, including the financial process,” said James Logsdon, Chief Revenue Officer of Ascension. “This recognition validates our commitment to transparency and our Mission of serving all with dignity and respect.”

This inaugural achievement highlights Ascension’s ongoing dedication to surpass rigorous national standards for revenue cycle performance. This certification reflects the work and deep expertise of Ascension’s industry-leading team in advancing revenue cycle excellence and patient financial communications.

Earning Adopter status is also a required prerequisite for advancing to the next phase of the HFMA MAP Award for High Performance, the industry’s premier recognition for revenue cycle excellence. Ascension’s achievement positions the organization to pursue this next level of distinction as it continues strengthening financial operations in service of patients and communities.
