Ascension Providence names Katie Scott as  Chief Operating Officer

Ascension Providence is pleased to announce that Katie Scott, MSN, RN, has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective December 8th. Since assuming the interim Chief Operating Officer role in August, Katie has proven to be an outstanding and invaluable leader within the Ascension Texas ministry.

“Katie has already made a significant impact as Interim COO, and her background as both a nursing leader and an accomplished administrator uniquely positions her to support our team members and patients,” said Philip Patterson, President, Ascension Providence. “I’m grateful for her leadership and look forward to the positive contributions she will continue to make for our hospital and the community we serve.”

I look forward to continuing that work here at Providence.”

Before joining Ascension Providence, Katie served as Interim COO at Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas (DSMC-UT) and as the Chief Nursing Officer for the hospital. Her calm leadership, deep clinical expertise, and proven ability to bridge operational and patient care priorities have made a meaningful impact across Ascension facilities. She is recognized for her passion for Ascension's Mission, strategic focus, and commitment to excellence, which are expected to further strengthen Ascension Providence and the communities it serves.

Katie holds a Master of Science in Nursing-Leadership and Management from Western Governors University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington in December 2013, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She also holds an Associates in Applied Science-Nursing from Blinn College, where she was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Group and named a Presidential Scholar.
