Ascension St. Vincent Welcomes First Baby One Minute into New Year

Sadie Sheeley, a high school senior, is giving back to the place where her life began: the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Almost 18 years ago, Sadie was a critically ill infant who spent weeks there. Today, she uses her experience and talent to crochet a prayer blanket and tiny hats for a current NICU patient at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Evansville.

Ascension St. Vincent has marked a major milestone in addressing the persistent national nursing shortage with the graduation of the first cohort from its innovative Nursing Apprenticeship program.

Throughout 2025, Ascension St. Vincent advanced its mission to deliver high-quality care to communities across Indiana.
